Biografia
Regardless of the person you see today, I have had my own struggles with injuries and weight management. I can honestly tell you that I will never ask you to do something that I am not willing to do myself, and that I truly live and breath what I preach. I put in the work everyday, but I also have my moments of weakness. You should work with me, because I am a real person. Just like you!
I grew up in Connecticut and lived in several different states before settling in Texas. I have worked as personal trainer, behavior modification specialist, and personal training manager for over 18 years. In January 2017, I started training jiu-jitsu in Naples, Florida, and received my blue belt in 2019. After winning Gold in the 2020 IBJJF Miami Open, Covid-19 shut down jiu-jitsu gyms and competitions everywhere.
Being dedicated to jiu-jitsu, I continued training on my own, developing at-home training strategies through solo drills and jiu-jitsu specific workout programs I developed with bodyweight exercises and resistance band training. When Covid-19 restrictions were lifted, I would return to jiu-jitsu, but not until a relocation to Keller, TX when my husband was offered a once in a lifetime job opportunity.
Once in Texas, I spent time at two other academies before I found the home I was searching for at Falcon Jiu-Jitsu. I earned my purple belt with Falcon Jiu-Jitsu after winning Gold at the 2022 IBJJF Dallas Open.
I hold a bachelor's degree in Human Development, a master's degree in Exercise Science, and NASM Personal Training and Corrective Exercise Specialist certifications, as well as being a licensed Realtor® in the state of Texas. I have experience in behavior modification and coaching, personal training, jiu-jitsu, and self-defense coaching. As a female jiu-jitsu practitioner and dedicated competitor, I am excited to promote the participation of women and girls of all ages in jiu-jitsu. I did not start training jiu-jitsu until age 35. Now at age 39, I believe that it is never too late to start your training.
At purple belt, I have won every competition I have entered. I aspire to compete in the higher level competitions. However, it requires that I travel to places like Las Vegas, Anaheim, and Orlando multiple times per year. My private lessons do not cover this cost.
When not training jiu-jitsu, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two small dogs, and real estate investing.
