Cara McLaughlin est né et grandit dans le nord de l'Irelande. Voici Pomeroy co, Tyrone : Elle n'était pas trop optimiste. Médiocre à l'école, Cara McLaughlin écrit dans ses propres mots qu'elle "n'a jamais pris les bonnes décisions dans la vie", et allait dans la mauvaise drection.  Ce qui arriva ensuite changea son future.

Kristel est une jeune athlète ambitieuse.  Comme dans bien d’autres sports, la pratique de l’haltérophilie est onéreuse entre l’entraînement et les frais de compétitions auxquels l'athlète doit participer pour être classé. Kristel a donc pris l’initiative de chercher du financement avec MAKEACHAMP, une plateforme de sociofinancement, chef de file dans son domaine. Elle a récolté plus de 100% de son objectif MAKEACHAMP avec plus de $4000 amassés, et participera samedi prochain aux championnats du monde. 

Last year, Kaitlin became the Canadian Junior Open Water Champion in Montreal, despite suffering from shingles the week before, and being told that she wouldn't be able to swim for a week--- the week of her biggest swim meet.
