Indian Olympic swimmer writes an open letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Indian swimmer Rehan Poncha, who has represented his country in the Olympics and is also a recipient of the Arjuna Award, has written an open letter to Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, where he has highlighted the sad state of affairs in Indian sports. Poncha, 26, talks about his experience as an athlete in the letter and urges the Prime Minister to look into the issue and see to it that the athletes in India are given the respect they deserve and are not treated like nobodys.

Coach's Rant - rally up your athletes for the MAKEACHAMP campaign

Are you a coach? Are you about to launch a MAKEACHAMP team campaign. The first thing you need to do is to gather all your athletes into a single room and brief them about what is going to be happening. As the coach you should try to motivate the athletes to put in the necessary effort. It is true that not all the athletes will participate but a good introduction can make it easier for those that do want to put the effort in. To make it easier for you to do this, here is what you need to say:

Success Story - Alison Tremblay

On the surface, Alison's campaign was like no other; however, looking deeper in one could find the story of a true champion. This is a story of an athlete whose goal is bigger than many could ever image. Alison has dedicated her life to becoming the BJJ World Champion in ALL belts. Let me reiterate - Alison wants to become the World champion in the White belt category, blue belt, purple belt, brown belt AND black belt.

Meggie Ochoa - BJJ World Champion

It was this past weekend that Brazilian Jiu-jitsu practitioners from around the world gathered together in California in hopes of becoming 2014 World Jiu-jitsu champions. The atmosphere and the level of fighting was extraordinary. However, one interesting story was developing in the background of this event - the story of Meggie Ochoa, a BJJ practitioner from the Philippines.
